Evaluating Public Engagement: One-Day Workshop

Monday 15 December, 10am-3:30pm - Faculty of Arts Building

Join us for a full-day interactive workshop designed to equip you with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to evaluate your public engagement activities effectively. This hands-on session will guide you through the strategic, practical, and analytical aspects of evaluation, combining the content of our previous seminar series into a cohesive learning experience.

Lunch: Please note catering is not provided. Feel free to bring your own or enjoy nearby options during the lunch break.

Workshop Overview

Throughout the day, we’ll explore three interconnected modules:

1. Introduction to Evaluation Strategy, Methods and Practice

  • Understand the purpose and value of evaluation in public engagement.

  • Learn how to think strategically about your activities.

  • Define your own measures of success and explore a framework for planning evaluation.

2. Practical Evaluation Tools and Resources

  • Discover practical tools to help you design and conduct meaningful evaluations.

  • Explore available resources and how to apply them to your own engagement work.

  • Learn how to align tools with your success measures.

3. Understanding and Presenting Data

  • Examine the types of data you can collect through evaluation.

  • Learn basic techniques for analysing and interpreting data.

  • Gain insights into how to present findings to demonstrate impact and inform future practice.

Last Minute Cancellations/ No Shows

This session is subject to our training cancellation policy. If you can no longer attend you must give at least 7 days notice to cancel your place or else receive a strike on your record. Those with two strikes will be barred from future training and WIE Funding until the following academic year.
