Storytelling for Research
Engage, inspire, include
In this workshop, we'll explore how imagery, empathy, and curiosity become your tools for creating that crucial "way in" for your audience.
Participants will learn techniques to:
- Clarify complexity
- Make the work relatable
- Make audiences care
- Create engaging content
We’ll mix deep theory with practical ideas. You’ll learn tips, but also how and why they work
About the session lead
The session will be led by Matt from DY Training
"I’m Matt and I’ve been presenting to audiences and training presenters professionally for ten years now. I started out working in science centres, observatories, and science festivals. From the most poignant story to the completely silly bits, making a connection with my audience was the most rewarding part.
These days I work with DY Training to upskill academics and researchers, as a presentation trainer, I love seeing people grow in confidence as their skills develop. With some simple and honest advice, you too can tell your story, captivate your audience and communicate your work with impact."
