Engagement
I believe passionately in making the ancient world as accessible as possible to a wider audience. I regularly talk in schools around the country, write books intended for the popular market as well as articles for national and international newspapers and magazines, take part in radio programmes, and have written and presented several TV series about the ancient world for History Channel, National Geographic, ITV, Nova, SBS and the BBC. To see these programmes, and find out more, visit: www.michaelscottweb.com.
To keep up to date with my latest engagement events, publications and programmes, follow me on twitter (@profmcscott) or subscribe to my email newsletter.
I am the President of the Lytham Saint Annes Classical Association branch (the largest in the country). To see their programme of activities and lectures click here
I am also the founder and Director of the Warwick Classics Network, working with schools across Coventry and Warwichsire, alongside national charity Classics for All, to ensure access to the study of Classical Civilisation and Ancient History. See our website here
In 2018 I also launched my new ancient global history outreach and impact project: Oiko.world. This portal has been designed and built to enable people to engage with ancient global history and discover the connections between ancient communities. It was funded by Warwick Strategic and Departmental Impact grants during 2016 and 2017.
In 2020, I became co-Director of the newly founded Warwick Institute of Engagement.
