PGCE training day at the Ashmolean
Location: Ashmolean Museum, Oxford
The AshLi team will be introducing PGCE students from KCL and Cambridge to the fascinating insights on offer for teaching Latin and Classical Civilisation in secondary education, available from studying the collection of Latin inscriptions in the Ashmolean Museum, via the resources created by the AshLi team. Following a lecture on 'Taking the fear out of Latin inscriptions', participants will have the chance to learn about using apps in teaching based on Latin inscriptions in a session on 'Engaging with Technology led by Alex Peck, to tour the new displays of Latin inscriptions in the Rome and Reading and Writing Galleries with the project's PI, Alison Cooley, and to find out how to use 'Inscriptions in the Classroom' with Jane Masséglia.
