The class meets weekly for a two-hour session. Each class will typically consist of a lecture and a seminar discussion. The lectures are designed to present key topics to the class, to highlight important evidence and its problems, and to review the main items of modern scholarship. The seminar will give you the opportunity to discuss the texts you will read in more detail. Preparatory reading of primary and secondary material distributed in advance is essential.
In addition, the class meets twice a term for a two-hour seminar session to focus some key aspects of the module.
