About: Professor Cubitt is a renowned figure in eco-theory as well as in film/media studies, having published numerous books and essays. His books include Finite Media: Environmental Implications of Digital Technologies (Duke UP, 2017), The Practice of Light: A Genealogy of Visual Technologies from Prints to Pixels (MIT Press, 2014), Digital Aesthetics (SAGE, 2009), and Ecomedia (Rodopi, 2005). He is currently completing a book on eco-critical close readings of media texts and the challenges posed by the advent of mass databases of images and video.
