Information for Incoming Postgraduate Students
We’re delighted that you’re joining us this year and hope that you’ll settle in quickly, find new friends and be intellectually challenged and stimulated by your course. Film and Television Studies is a small, close-knit community of film and television scholars, and we’re glad that you’ve found your home here with us.
Starting a new course can be daunting – so we hope to make this process as easy and enjoyable as possible. The University’s Welcome to WarwickLink opens in a new window site has lots of essential information on it about settling into university life. There are several people in Film and Television Studies who can guide you: Dr Rick Wallace (Richard.Wallace@warwick.ac.uk) is the Director of Film and Television Studies, Professor Tiago de Luca (T.de-Luca@warwick.ac.uk) is the Director of Graduate Studies for PhD students, and Dr Ritika Kaushik () is the Director of Graduate Studies for MA students. They will all be around to meet you in your first week. Please email them in the meantime if you have any questions.
In the SCAPVC (School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures) office, the Programme Officer who helps to administrate our postgraduate courses is Monica Dinu. Please do contact her if you have any concerns at all. Tracey McVey is our Administrator for Student Experience and can also help. Monica and Tracey can both be reached at SCAPVCenquiries@warwick.ac.ukLink opens in a new window.
You will be assigned a personal tutor (or mentor for PhD students) during the Film and Television induction on the Wednesday or Welcome Week. You should email your assigned personal tutor or mentor to request a meeting in the first couple of weeks of term.
We are looking forward to meeting you soon!
Best Wishes
Dr Rick Wallace (Director of Film and Television Studies)
