I am a Collaborative Doctoral Award (CDA) student looking at television archives and UK Cities of Culture. My research will use television programming and archives to look at the two previous UKCoCs (Hull and Derry) and at Coventry's year in 2021 and evaluate the role of television in placemaking and reputational change. Alongside- and feeding into- this research I am working with the Media Archive For Central England (MACE) to create and run outreach events linked to Coventry 2021, and with the independent production company Illuminations who have been commissioned to make an archive focused documentary about Coventry Cathedral.
