Questioning the Disappearance of Disciplinary Boundaries

Wednesday, 23rd May 2018 in OC1.06, 10am – 5.30pm

This student-led Symposium will explore the various ways in which it has become trendy to develop interdisciplinary approaches that gradually obfuscate disciplinary boundaries. Research areas in the Arts and Social Sciences have increasingly become acquainted with the rearrangement of the disciplines within which they are studied. We aim to discuss ‘interdisciplinarity’ as a hypothesis whilst also considering benefits and possible issues it might raise.

Confirmed keynote speaker: Professor Catherine Davies, Professor of Hispanic and Latin American Studies at the University of Nottingham & Director of the Institute of Modern Languages Research, School of Advanced Study, University of London.

This event is free to attend – and we also welcome UG students who wish to attend – however, places are limited so please complete the form to confirm your attendance by Midday on Friday 4th May: Attendance Confirmation Form

We wish to thank the following for financial support: CADRE, RSSP, School of Modern Languages and Cultures.
