We are one of the UK's leading sites of research in French, German, Hispanic and Italian Studies, and our expertise ranges from the Medieval period to the present. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework exercise, 79.7% of our work was ranked in the highest categories of 4* or 3*, placing our research outputs 5th in the UK.
