New Arts Building Topping Out Ceremony

On Thursday, 12 November 2020 the University celebrated completing the final storey of the new Faculty of Arts Building with a “topping out” ceremony. "Topping out" refers to when the last beam (or its equivalent) is placed at the top of a structure during its construction.

The new Faculty of Arts Building will be a landmark space at the heart of the central campus; a destination for engagement in the humanities and the arts; a hub for public engagement with the arts and nurturing cultural value. It will co-locate over 350 Arts and Humanities staff in a new teaching and learning building.

Works on the Faculty of Arts building started in May 2019 and are due to complete in time for the 2021/22 academic year.
