An exclusive fully funded opportunity for 10 first year widening participation students from the Faculty of Arts to take part in an exciting pilot programme in Venice, Italy during Easter vacation 2024.
This will be an interdisciplinary programme led by academics from the Faculty of Arts to consider Resilience in Venice - past, present and future.

The Biennial is an exciting time for contemporary art that heralds the cultural significance of the city and is set to launch this autumn in venues across Coventry and Warwickshire. The festival includes exhibitions, public talks, workshops, and activities that have been visited by a million people since the Biennial began in 2017.
Among the artist and researcher collaborators is Graeme Macdonald, professor of English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick who’s teamed up with local artist Paul Lemmon for Coventry Biennial 2023 as part of a new artistic commission.

The University of Warwick’s Faculty of Arts building has been recognised by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) as a National award winner.
The £60m building forms part of Warwick University’s £100m investment into the arts and is the cornerstone of the University’s new campus arts quarter.
Designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, the building brings together the departments and schools of the faculty under one roof.
Providing a world-class centre for teaching and research, it includes an antiquities room, cinema, theatre studios and a media lab, along with multi-purpose events and exhibition spaces.

The Faculty of Arts promotes digital learning and teaching innovation through the Digital Arts Lab (DAL). The Digital Arts Lab Showcase is an annual event where students are invited to submit their best piece of academic work or personal artefacts created through or about digital tools. This can be an academic assessment which utlises a digital tool (for example a video, podcast or website), a personal endeavour that uses or showcases a digital tool, or a short piece of writing that comments on the digital world (both fiction and non-fiction welcome). Each submission has to be accompanied by a reflective piece, which captures the learners' journey in producing the digital piece. Individual and group submissions are accepted and this year for the first time the DAL Showcase had separate undergraduate and postgraduate categories.
As in previous years, the panel judging the Showcase had the enjoyable task of listening and watching all the entries. Topics covered ranged from a podcast looking at how the legacy of slavery leading to institutionalised racism impacted 1950s rock and roll and still influences the modern music industry to a digital game focusing on women's experiences in early modern Britain.
