English

Francesca Andreoli is an Italian film producer. Born in Bologna on 11 January 1980, she graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures before pursuing a career in film. After graduating, she began working at the Cineteca di Bologna, first as an intern and then gradually moving into different departments to learn a wider range of roles. She initially worked on organising the monthly programme of screenings at the Lumière cinema, and later on festivals, workshops, and various film series. From 2008 onwards, she worked at the Bologna Film Commission, where she came into contact with film production, learning how films are organised and made and what the logistical and organisational challenges involved are. Andreoli therefore decided to leave the Cineteca in 2014 and join the small production company tempesta, which had offices in both London and Bologna. There, she helped produce numerous debut films by young directors, including Alice Rohrwacher and Leonardo di Costanzo. She remained there until 2019. In the meantime, Andreoli also attended the ACE Producers course, an experience that allowed her to complete her training in an international context and gain a much broader perspective through relationships with numerous European producers. After her experience at tempesta, Andreoli began working with IBC Movie, another Bologna-based production company, as an executive producer. In 2021, she founded her own production company, Cinedora, together with Leonardo Guerra Seràgnoli, Maura Delpero, and Santiago Fondevila Sancet. The company produces many debut and second films and also produced Maura Delpero’s second feature, Vermiglio (2024), which won the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, received seven David di Donatello Awards (including Best Film and Best Director), and was selected by Italy as its submission for the Academy Awards.
