Check access permissions for videos stored in Microsoft Stream

You might have made a recording using Microsoft Teams (stored in Stream) or uploaded a video to Stream in a previous academic year. This may have access permissions for a group from that year. If your students in the following year need to access this, you will need to manually update the access permissions.

Know your Moodle Super User

Your department is:

Super user[s]:

Each department has a Moodle Super User who acts as a contact with the Academic Technology Team. They have access to all of their department's Moodle courses, as well as some additional admin roles. They recieve important news updates about the Moodle service, and collect feedback and suggestions for improving it.

Prepare and open Moodle module spaces

Moodle module spaces have been created for all modules. In most cases, the previous year's spaces will have been copied using the process called rollover.

You still need to check your spaces, update them, and when ready, open them to your students.

Prepare and publish reading lists with Talis Aspire

All reading lists should be submitted online using the Talis Aspire system, and all core and recommended readings must be available electronically – either as e-books, e-journal articles or copyright-cleared chapter / article scans. This will ensure maximum availability of resources for your students. Use the web browser add-in button to make this easier. Reading lists from previous years have been copied over to this year. They need to be checked, edited, and published.

Set up Teams spaces for online and hybrid teaching

Microsoft Teams spaces may be created for each of your modules, or for groups of students within a module. Membership is automatically synced with Moodle. There is a process for requesting these spaces. This might be handled by a Moodle Super-User in your department, or you might need to do it yourself.
