Inclusive Policy and Practice for Disabled Students
This Learning Circle, which was led by Jagjeet Jutley-Nelson and Elena Riva, is now closed.
The Circle completed its core objective of establishing a code of inclusive practice for the University, at which point it closed. However, the work continues across Warwick - the two leads still work on inclusive and wellbeing practices, and there is ongoing collaboration with Disability Services to ensure an inclusive experience for disabled students at Warwick.
The Learning Circle 'Inclusive Policy and Practice for Disabled Students' established a code of inclusive practice to support disabled students in their academic learning experience and wider student experience during their time at the University of Warwick. The code of practice was designed to be a guidance document for staff relating to inclusive policy, practice, and provision for disabled students. The code of practice was developed in conjunction with other key policies at the University, wider sector regulatory guidance and best practice from the sector. The code was created in partnership with key stakeholders across the university (e.g., students, disability taskforce, wellbeing).
Agreed common goals for this Circle included:
- Creating a co-produced code of practice for inclusive practice for disabled students
- Working in partnership to create this code of practice with key stakeholders
