Hot Drinks & Freebies

As the new academic year gets underway, warm up with a comforting cup of hot chocolate, complete with your favourite toppings or a speciality tea. Indulge in this cosy treat while also grabbing some freebies to enhance your revision and study sessions.

Got questions about exams? Need help figuring out how everything will work? Join us for an open forum with staff where you can ask all your questions about exams. We'll be there to help you navigate the exam process and ensure you're prepared for exam season!

Fancy a bit of friendly competition and pizza to distract you from work! Bring your favourite board game or use those we have in the common room, grab a slice (or two!) of pizza, and settle in for a bit of laughter, games strategy, and good company.

Paws & Reflect: Petting Zoo

Join us for an afternoon of furry and scaly companionship, where you can unwind, reduce stress, and boost your emotional well-being. Studies have shown that spending time with animals can enhance social interaction, improve cognitive function, and lower stress levels. Let our furry (and scaly!) friends help you relax and reflect on the term so far.

Unleash your inner Picasso! Whether you are an accomplished painter or complete novice, come along and paint the afternoon away! ‍

Ditch the Bunsen burner for a paintbrush in our ChemArt: Watercolour session. Explore the beauty of chemical reactions & chromatography on canvas. It's the perfect study break to de-stress & rediscover the art in science. Join us!

We know exams make you stressed, so we thought why not have an event dedicated to free desserts? Join us for all the desserts you can - cake, cookies, muffins, doughnuts, and some fruit platters. You can also use the space to study or socialise (and nurse food babies).

Chem Badminton Club

We've heard your feedback and are trialling some Badminton nights at the Sports & Wellness Hub. The Chem Badminton Club is open to students and staff, inside and outside of Chem. You don't need equipment and can rock up for some matches on a Tuesday night! To join the session, email . When you arrive at reception, mention you are there for the Chem Badminton Club to be let through to the courts.

Friday 5-aside Football

Join our weekly Chemistry 5-aside football on Pitch 2 at the Sports & Wellness Hub. It's open to everyone, regardless of your skill level – all abilities are welcome! Climb to new heights and make friends in Chemistry! Our fortnightly Climbing Club is open to everyone, regardless of your climbing experience.
