The Department of Chemistry at Warwick is a thriving community of students, academics, researchers, and support staff. Partnership with students is a core commitment in the Department of Chemistry and we champion and support effective and appreciative partnership.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated students to join us as Engagement and Community Interns. As an intern, you will support the planning and execution of various parts of the We are Chemistry programme. The role will involve working a maximum of 5 hours per week during term time, for a maximum of 40 weeks from August 2024 – June 2025. We are looking for students to work with us in the following areas:

Social Media Content Creators

Building our audience and engaging them through Instagram and TikTok

Departmental Art and Design Creators

Develop physical artwork for the department, as well as videos, visuals, and graphics

Event Design and Management

Work with us to create unforgettable experiences in the department

Student Engagement Champions

Help us create collaboration and knowledge-sharing spaces

Outreach and Alumni Champions

Connect with schools, inspire the next generation, and build relationships with alumni

We are also open to hearing your ideas for roles, based on things you're interested in or would like to see in the department.

The roles are based in the Department of Chemistry, working closely with the Student Experience Team, in person, online, and in a hybrid capacity. We are committed to supporting you to build skills and work in a supportive environment, where we work around your exams and deadlines.

Support you'll receive:

  • We will work with you to develop your role for a maximum of 5 hours per week.
  • You'll be paid through Unitemps at a rate of £12.19 per hour.

  • We will help you develop skills and take other opportunities at Warwick

What we need from you:

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Warwick;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
  • Previous experience is a plus, but not required.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must have current student status or proof of acceptance on a degree at Warwick;
  • Applicants must be a University of Warwick student for the full duration of the internship;
  • All applicants are required to provide proof of their Right to Work in the UK before they start work;
  • All interns need to reside in the UK whilst undertaking this role.
