Poster Prize Haul for our PhD Students
Chemistry PhD students Stephen Brown (Pike Group), Dashnor Beqiri and Ben Tragheim (both Senn Group) win poster prizes at the British Crystallographic Association Conference 2022.
Stephen received the Physical Crystallography Group (PCG) Solid State Chemistry Poster Prize for 'Synthesis, Structural Determination, and Photochemical Properties of Cerium-oxo Clusters' and said:
"The conference was an excellent opportunity to present my work and to meet fellow researchers and share ideas. I was delighted that my work was recognised and enjoyed sharing my poster."
Dashnor brought home the he IUCr Journals Poster Prize for ‘Engineering soft modes in layered perovskites’, commenting:
"It was amazing to be back at a conference in person, seeing old friends and making new ones, as well as listening to some amazing talks!"
Ben took the PCG Group Poster Prize (sponsored by STOE) for 'Interplay of Jahn-Teller distortions, orbital order and structural degrees of freedom in LaMn1-xGaxO3', adding:
"My experience attending the BCA Spring Meeting was incredibly valuable. Being able to present my current research to a wide range of early-career researchers and academics this early in my PhD, and to be recognised for it in this way, is a great feeling. I would highly recommend all PhD and Masters researchers to attend and present in conferences whenever they can."
Congratulations to our successful poster presenters!
