SENSORS Industry Day
The Oculus, University Road, University of Warwick

The Faculty of Science will be hosting a Sensors Industry Day in the Oculus on Wednesday 11th December 9.30-2.00. The event is open to both academics and industrial partners working in SENSORS and is designed to:

  1. Showcase Warwick Sensors capability
  2. Explore the challenges Industry are facing in the area
  3. Foster industry/ academia collaboration

The Draft Programme & Registration Form can be found on the industry Day web page. 

This sensor-specific event will potentially provide the opportunity to bring in new industry partners with requirements for new sensing technologies or needs that could be met with some of our existing sensor technologies. Therefore please share this email with your industrial contacts.

 

The focus will be on research in the following areas & there is an opportunity to demonstrate sensor research if desired:

  • Electrical / Electromagnetic / Electrochemical
  • Optical
  • Temperature
  • Acoustic / Ultrasonic
  • Sensors for Health & Medicine

Chemistry Department UG Admissions Day

All UCAS offer holders will be invited to attend one of our Admissions Days which provide a more tailored, in-depth experience of life at Warwick Chemistry for those who have already applied. You will be given a tour of the Department and University Campus, including Halls of Residence, and have the opportunity to chat to some of our current undergraduates. Our academic staff will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have about our courses, the university, etc.

Parliament for Researchers Workshop 27 February 2020
Wolfson Research Exchange

When: Thursday 27th February 2020, 13.30-16.00 (lunch from 13.00)

Who: All Research Staff

What: This workshop gives an overview of the UK Parliament and how Parliament uses research, and covers ways to work with the institution including details on Select Committees, legislative scrutiny, the House of Commons and House of Lords libraries, and POST. It also includes discussion of how to communicate research in a policy context. The session will be interactive and practical. You will leave with an understanding of how research is used in the UK Parliament, and able to identify opportunities to feed your research into Parliament’s work. This training is delivered by UK Parliament’s Knowledge Exchange unit.
