Women in Chemistry Roundtable Event 2025

Women in Chemistry

Roundtable Event 2025

Dani Pearson and Livia Bartok-Partay organised the Warwick Women in Chemistry Roundtable discussion in May, for the fourth time!

The event brought together over 40 students and staff for an afternoon of inspiring discussions: the event featured a panel of current colleagues, Patti Grierson and Rachel Hand, and Warwick alumnae, Anah Ahee, Yvonne Udenwa and Alice Mortiboy, working across a range of roles, who shared their career journeys and personal insights.

The panel created a warm, engaging atmosphere and feedback from the event was unanimously positive, with the inspiring stories and inclusive approach particularly appreciated. Attendees described the roundtable discussion as “insightful”, “important for spreading awareness” and praised the “good engagement” throughout. One participant shared how the event gave them “faith and trust” in their journey. The afternoon concluded with informal networking over pizza and refreshments, giving students the opportunity to continue discussions and build connections. The event helped attendees reflect on their futures, gain new perspectives, and feel part of a wider community working towards equity in science. Special thanks to Tom Ritchie and the student experience team for providing financial and organisational support, to our fantastic student interns (Kylini Suganthan and Katie Allabush) for promoting the event so well, and to everyone who attended and contributed to such a memorable discussion!
