Funding

For the 2023/24 academic year, funding is open to both UK and International research students as detailed on the UKRI website. The Warwick Doctoral College has a comprehensive guide on UKRI funding for students. The EPSRC/UKRI funding is provided by the grant "Prosperity Partnerships Call 4 Strategic Students Element Six & Uni of Warwick" (EP/W523768/1) associated with the Prosperity Partnerships Engineered Diamond Technologies project (EP/V056778/1).

Awards for both UK residents and international applicants pay a stipend to cover maintenance as well as paying the university fees and research training support. The stipend is at the standard UKRI rate (for 2021/22 that is £15,609 per annum).

UKCISA provides information on tuition fees to help you assess your fee status.

  • UK Applicants: DST CDT provides funding for the four-year programme to UK students.
  • International Applicants: We expect a very small number of fully funded international places to be available on a competitive basis to exceptional students of any citizenship.
