Congratulations to Deema Khunda, a postgraduate student with the School, as a runner up in the Warwick Gender Equality Awards!

Deema, a postgraduate student in the School of Engineering (right in picture) is the Sponsorship Coordinator for the Warwick Women in Engineering Society, and was a runner up in the individual category for the recent Warwick's Gender Equality Awards in promoting gender equality in and outside of Warwick.
The work she is involved in with the society centres around connecting society with industry and education partners, including creating sponsorship opportunities to support the education and careers of women in engineering.
The result of this work has secured sponsorship from Palantir, Ballie Gifford, Delta Cosworth Warwick cities and energy GRP.
There are 150 members and over 500 social media followers in the network that connect women in engineering and science all over campus, in social as well as professional settings.
School Providing Continuing Support to Space Concepts Programming Module at All Girls School
Dr Bill Crofts Link opens in a new windowfrom the School is continuing to support the Space Concepts Programming Module being developed by Nicola Buttigieg at Sutton High School – part of the Girls Day School Trust.
This module is directing young women towards STEM, and potentially, Space – related careers. The audience typically involves up to 13 GDST schools based in e.g. London, Brighton, Norwich, Nottingham, Sheffield (of those noted during his talks).
