Active Bystander Intervention course for UGs and PGTs
We can all play a role as Active Bystanders to help put a stop to sexual harassment and abuse. Join the Active Bystander intervention course, so that you can develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to safely challenge unacceptable behaviour. Explore what being an Active Bystander is, how we can challenge harmful social norms, and develop techniques and strategies we can use to intervene when it’s safe to do so. HEAR accredited and certificate of participation (no exam/coursework). Run over 5 sessions and facilitated by the Community Values Education Programme (CVEP). Register for term 2 (starting in week 20).
The Computational Toolkit: HetSys Student-Led Seminar Series
The series includes a programme of talks focussing on key computational skills which are used in everyday research and will feature talks from HetSys PhD students as well as guests from other centres and organisations.
The aim of this series is to create a "computational toolkit" of resources and tutorials, aimed at helping those just beginning in the field, and offering a more practical introduction to computational science as a whole. It will cover a range of topics relevant to someone who’s just taking an interest in computational science as a whole, or a programming tool, but will also include talks on more complex tools.
The website is here: https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/hetsys/outreach/toolkit/ and has details of the upcoming talks.
The series kicks off on the 1st February at 4pm, and will run weekly at that time via YouTube Live.
Participants needed for study into the effect of COVID-19 restrictions and online learning on loneliness
This research will be looking into the effects that COVID-19 restrictions and online learning have had on loneliness amongst students at the University of Warwick. It will be carried out by a University of Warwick researcher. I invite all students that attend the university and do a full-time degree to participate in a 20-minute anonymous online survey. Click this link to be taken to the survey: https://warwick.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eyDbnmLZd8PgOEK

The IET - Have your say on how we communicate with you
If you are a student member of the IET, you can take part in an online or telephone interview about how we can improve our communications with student members like you
Dear student,
The IET is conducting research with student members on how we can improve communications about our membership offering and we would love to hear from you.
As part of a wider IET initiative to ensure we remain relevant and useful to our members’ professional needs, we have commissioned an independent research agency, Shift Membership, to conduct interviews on our behalf. The feedback from these interviews will help us review our communication methods and strategies and ensure that you’re getting the best out of your IET membership.
