University of Warwick supports Imagineering 2014
The University of Warwick recently took part in the 2014 Midlands Imagineering Fair at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry alongside 40 other companies and organisations. The aim of the event is to promote engineering to young people and raise awareness of the breadth of engineering.
Its organised by the Imagineering Foundation and is packed with scores of hands-on engineering and technology activities for youngsters and is supported by some of the UK's top manufacturing companies, including Jaguar Land Rover, National Grid, Caterpillar and JCB.
Students and staff from the School of Engineering, WMG and Centre for Lifelong Learning ran a range of activities on the weekend of the 8th and 9th of November 2014, supported by the WMG Catapult Project. It was a busy but enjoyable weekend for all involved.
On the stand we had the following groups:
- Engineers Without Borders - demonstrating their human powered smoothie maker
- Formula Student - with their racing car
- Warwick Mobile Robotics - showing robots that take part in the robot rescue competition
- Warwick Sub - demonstrating their human powered submarine, plus themed activities (involving water)
- MEng Biomedical Engineering outreach project team - showing the mind controlled tilt table
- 3D printing and its applications
- Centre for Lifelong Learning team
- WMG Technical team.
