Robots make their way to the School of Engineering!

Team complete specialist training
The University has awarded this year’s Capital Investment Fund for Teaching to a ground breaking project that brings robotics to the heart of digital manufacturing education.
Led by the School of Engineering’s Design Team – Dr Javier Munguia, Dr Yudhi Ariadi, and Dr Rodolpho de Oliveira – the initiative will introduce soft collaborative robots into a brand-new third-year optional module on Digital Manufacturing.
The team has completed specialist training at RARUK Automation in Shefford, mastering everything from commissioning and programming to safe-zone planning and practical applications.
Soon, two UR7 collaborative robots will arrive on campus, ready to give students hands-on experience in the 2026/27 academic year. Stay tuned!
