Madison Moor to talk about "Surge Capacity for Infection Prevention and Control During Emergencies" 31.03.22

Madison Moor - WHO Technical Officer in the Health Emergencies Programme will be presenting on Surge capacity for infection prevention and control as part of the forthcoming ODIN Hospital Disaster Preparedness webinar.

Emergencies place a high burden on managed care settings receiving an emergent influx of occupants to ensure their safety and security. In most cases, this allows for systems to surge their allocation of resources and response personnel to respond proportionately to occupant needs; however there are major risks in high occupancy settings of initiating or amplifying clusters and outbreaks of infectious disease. Proportional implementation of multimodal infection prevention and control systems ranging from passive engineering controls enabling a reduction of pathogens in built environment to active risk assessment and personal protective equipment availability at point of care can effectively limit loose links in the chain of transmission.

An open discussion will follow all presentations, moderated by Prof Leandro Pecchia and Dr Yadin David.

The webinar is free and takes place on 31st March 2022 at 1pm CET.
