Technical Release: TR-RWH 06 - The ferrocement jar (2000)

The ferrocement jar was developed in Thailand and disseminated extensively during the 1980's. It has since spread to other parts of the world with variable success. Here instructions are given for manufacturing a 500 litre jar, based on experiences in Uganda in 2000. A full costing is also given.

Further development of this type of tank has resulted in cheaper and larger designs using reusable moulds. If a reasonable number of tanks is being contemplated, a more appropriate design may be described in TR-RWH 10
