DTU Working Paper: WP51 - Economic Utilisation of Water Hyacinth on Lake Victoria
T. H. Thomas, (1998)
This Working Paper has been prepared as a raw collation of information for those many parties interested in the 'problem' of the water hyacinth colonisation of Lake Victoria. The Development Technology Unit of Warwick University is one such party, having researched water hyacinth utilisation in the past (albeit in Bangladesh and Thailand) and having many current connections with East Africa. There are many existing reports covering the WH problem (e.g. MAAIF 1997, IRIN 1997), some easily accessible and some not. This one puts particular emphasis upon the possibilities for the economic utilisation of the weed.
