The ThermExS laboratory is designed for the testing and evaluation of heating and cooling technologies as well as medium-sized thermal energy storage systems.

The ThermExS rig was custom-made by Spirax Sarco and enables us to supply pressurised hot water and oil up to 250°C and glycol down to -50°C through four large Huber Unistat baths, each capable of up to 30 kW of heating and 32 kW of cooling.

We have experience of testing a variety of technologies, including thermal compressors for gas-fired heat pumps, thermochemical heat stores and thermal transformers.
