IMechE Rail Challenge
The Warwick Rail Challenge team is a multi-disciplinary team of forth year engineering students who
are designing and building a 10 ¼” gauge locomotive to compete at the annual IMechE Railway
Challenge.
The IMechE Railway Challenge pits teams against eachother to create a locomotive and compete in a weekend long competition. This locomotive is publicly subjected to many complex engineering challenges, including its efficiency, sustainability, innovation and impact amongst the industry judges.
Our locomotive has been fully designed with a hydrogen fuel cell to deliver efficient, green and remarkably quiet energy, which we expect will generate a large amount of attention from local media and industry experts.
