Webinar - ADOPT funding for horticulture

Monday, 21st September 2026, 4pm to 5pm (UK time) - in Microsoft Teams.

What is ADOPT funding?

ADOPT (Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies) is a grower focused funding competition funded by Defra and administered by Innovate UK. It funds on-farm trials with a firm focus on being led by growers working with other growers:

  • Grant-funded projects with total costs of £50,000-£200,000
  • Projects cover agriculture, horticulture and agroforestry
  • Rolling programme of funding application windows every 8-9 weeks

How ADOPT Works

ADOPT projects are practical on-farm trials addressing an on-farm challenge and exploring how productivity, sustainability or resilience could be improved. Lasting six to 24 months, they must be led and built by farmers/growers, but they are not expected to work alone; collaboration is essential, with project findings having value beyond just a single business. Every project also works with an Innovate UK Business Connect registered facilitator chosen by the farmers whose role is to handle the administrative, project management and reporting side of the grant.
