Applying to MASDOC and funding

The MASDOC programme is a 4-year long integrated research and training graduate programme. Applications areger being considered for the next intake of students who will start in September/October 2018.

Who should apply?

Normally applicants should be expecting to obtain (or already have) a first class undergraduate degree such as an MMath (or equivalent) in Mathematics or Statistics.

Students with appropriate qualifications such as EU students who have completed a new European MSc (3+2 years) may be eligible to enter the MASDOC programme after Phase 1. This may also be the case for overseas students with a suitable MSc. If you would like to pursue this route, please contact us.

MASDOC offers four year studentships for eligible students. The funding for which you are eligible depends on where you are from (and, in some cases, where you have studied). Please follow the link which relates to your situation.

Application procedure

Applications for postgraduate courses at the University of Warwick are handled centrally by the Graduate School. Their website provides general information on how to apply.

If you would like to apply for a place on the MASDOC programme (with or without funding), we recommend that you use the online application form. Under Course details you should select P-G3G1 Mathematics and Statistics (PhD) (in principle) as your course. The application form invites a full research proposal; please use this space to instead tell us your motivation for undertaking research within MASDOC. We are unable to consider applications unless they are accompanied by two academic references and any transcripts, so please ensure that these documents are attached to your application.

For UK/EU students there are approximately 10 studentships available for September 2018, please apply as soon as possible. UK students are eligible for full EPSRC studentships. EU-based students (non-UK) are eligible for fees-only EPSRC studentships. Please see the funding pages for more details where other limited funding opportunities described also. Please note that if your application is incomplete (e.g. missing references), it may not be considered. Offers for studentships may be made throughout the academic year 2017-2018 until the quota is reached and so you are strongly advised to apply as early as possible.

We are always pleased to talk to prospective graduate students. Please feel free to contact us directly at at with your queries about MASDOC.
