There is no general deadline for the course application, but there are many things to consider.
We generally advise applicants to apply as early as possible, as offers are made on a rolling basis as long as funding is available.
In many cases, the deadline for course applications is not the same as the deadlines for funding. In particular, different scholarship opportunities have their own deadlines, and these are imposed by the funders themselves. Applicants who want to apply for scholarship funding should check the deadlines associated with the specific sources of funding. For scholarships offered by the University of Warwick, please refer to the scholarship pages on the Doctoral College Website.
For external funding, it is best to submit the course application at least four weeks before a funding deadline, as many funding sources expect you to have an offer before you apply for funding.
Applicants requiring a visa to study who do not require funding can apply up to the end of June for entry the following October. This is to allow time for obtaining a visa, and the completion and verification of required English language tests. Please be aware though that some visa holders may require an ATAS certificateLink opens in a new window which can be a timely to apply and receive.
