Rev'd Mark Rowland

mrowlandSeminar Synopsis

It’s not just a multi-faith prayer room: the inclusion of diverse religions, faiths and beliefs

This seminar will highlight the range and variety of issues relating to religious and faith inclusion at work, recognising that they go far beyond needs regarding prayer or ritual action. It will provide approaches for understanding and approaching this as well as an opportunity to examine particular examples in more detail.

Mark Rowland is Free Church Chaplain at the University of Warwick and has been a Methodist minister since 2009, previously serving in Cardiff and Coventry. Alongside his work at Warwick, Mark is studying for his doctorate at the University of Leeds exploring 'a queer theology of holiness'. Passionate about work for justice and inclusion, Mark is an active campaigner for LGBT+ equality in the Methodist Church and Christianity more broadly. He is particularly interested in the intersectional approaches and enjoys the opportunities and challenges chaplaincy ministry brings for this.
