Environment and Culture
WMS is committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative environment, addressing diverse needs across staff and students. We recognise gaps in support for colleagues with parental or caring responsibilities, and seek to address these through the working styles and family support subgroup.
Space and environmental management efforts are focussed on optimising the WMS working environment to enhance productivity, collaboration, and well-being, while promoting sustainability.
Working Styles and Family Support
Co chairs: Karoline Freeman, Emma Hall
Committed to advancing gender equality and work-life balance, the subgroup champions policies and initiatives that enable flexible working arrangements and provide comprehensive support for individuals balancing career and family responsibilities. Through advocacy, research, and collaboration with stakeholders, the subgroup seeks to address flexible working barriers, promote diversity, and create a culture of understanding and acceptance of work-life balance.
Health and Wellbeing
Co chairs: Adele Kenny, Rosemary Cragg
Focused on promoting health and well-being, this subgroup develops initiatives and resources to support the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of staff and students at Gibbet Hill. From wellbeing advice to mental health support services, we work to create a healthy and supportive environment where everyone can flourish.
This group is a collaboration with colleagues across Gibbet Hill in WMS and SLS.
