1st Symposium 2011

To celebrate the opening of the Human Metabolism Research Unit, Warwick Medical School held an international symposium to discuss recent advances in human metabolism research.

The symposium opened on the evening of Thursday 10 November 2011 with an opportunity to tour the Human Metabolism Research Unit at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire followed by a welcome reception and dinner at Scarman House, Coventry, UK.

The scientific programme on Friday 11 November explored current thinking in the physiology and pathology of human metabolism, including challenges for drug discovery in obesity and diabetes.

The symposium was of relevance to scientists and clinicians interested in the translation of metabolism research from molecular and cellular investigation to patient benefit.

Delegates were invited to present posters and to exhibit during the symposium.
