The link will go live on Monday, 1st of July, 2024.
We will not accept or process abstracts submitted via the conference email account.

The abstract submission deadline is Friday, 18th of September 2024, at 23:59 GMT.
You will receive an email on the outcome of your abstract submission by Monday 30th of September 2024.

Registration is NOT required at the time of submission; however, if your abstract is accepted for presentation in any format, you must register and pay by Friday the 11th of October, 2024 23:59 GMT, in order for your time slot to be confirmed.

All oral presentations will be in-person. If you wish to attend the conference online you should consider submitting an abstract for a poster presentation.

All accepted abstracts with author registration will be available on the conference online programme approximately two weeks before the conference.

There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author can submit or the formats the abstracts can be considered.

Word count limit
  • Title: 50 words.
  • Main body: 250 words.
  • This word count limit does not include the abstract title, author names or affiliations.

Abstract review process
  • Each submitted abstract will be peer-reviewed and scored by a minimum of two independent reviewers (one of the reviewers must be a student).
  • The abstract review process will be blinded with authors’ names removed before the abstract is assigned to reviewers.
  • Reviewers will assess each abstract based on originality, public health importance of the research question/topic, methodological rigour, and presentation, with each criterion score from 1 to 5. After adjusting for differences in scoring among individual reviewers, abstracts will be ranked based on their overall score (from 4 to 20), and available slots for presentations will be allocated according to merit.
  • In instances where abstracts do not make the mark for oral presentation, authors might be offered the option of a poster presentation.
