INFAIME is the result of a successful application to CIFAR (in partnership with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and France’s Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS)) in response to the second call for international workshops on AI and Society.

The network will be launched at our workshop Ethical futures: Preparing for the impact of AI on the values and practice of medicine 25-26th September 2019. The focus for this workshop is to set an innovative research agenda for the ethical implications of the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into medicine, focusing on the impact of AI on the values that inform and shape medical practice, professional roles and relationships, including with patients.

The aim of this interdisciplinary network is to form international research collaborations to deliver on that agenda. We will explore how AI will change our understanding of the practice of medicine and healthcare, and its impact on the core professional values that protect patients in their interactions with health services. The findings of this collaborative and interdisciplinary research will be developed and disseminated through the network.
