Social Science and Systems in Health unit is now the Social Science in Health and Illness Network (SSHIN)
We are a network of researchers and teaching practitioners with an interest in using social sciences methodologies to understand the perspective and experiences of a diverse range of people with health and social care needs, their carers, and health and social care professionals. We explore ethical issues, how the health care system works and how it could be improved. We have methodological expertise across a range of social science approaches. We work collaboratively and provide methodological support for intervention evaluation using mixed methods. Current research by members of the unit can be seen here (link).
The Network is led by John MacArtney, with Felicity Boardman and Corinna Clark. This website will be updated with more information about the Network, our members, and our research and teaching activities in due course. If you have any queries or would like to join the Network mailing list please contact any of the Network leads.
