Checks

Check the resource doesn't exist already by searching the address book in Outlook.
Please ensure the name is 20 characters or fewer (excluding @warwick.ac.uk) and in the format 'resourcename' or 'resource.name'.
Avoid generic names such as resource@warwick.ac.uk unless you are requesting this as the primary University stakeholder in that name.

Key points

Resource accounts must be associated with the department (Warwick Medical School) for audit and security
The 'owner' of the resource account is the person (must be a member of staff) who has the authority to request changes to the account such as additional 'send as' rights and for a change in ownership to another person.
Cath Fenn is happy to support MB ChB student groups with the ownership and management of email resource accounts

Please note here what the resource is required for (society, conference or project name) and provide a list of names and usercodes for people who will need to be able to either 'send as' the resource (instead of 'on behalf of') or have full access.
Full access only gives full visibility to the email box but does not grant rights to send emails.
Depending on which outlook client you are using, there will be a difference in how you add resource accounts to your outlook client.
