WHAMSoc
Widening participation in Healthcare and Medicine (WHAM) Society
Warwick WHAMis a student-led outreach society dedicated to widening participation in healthcare and
medicine.
We run a thriving mentor scheme pairing people interested in applying to GEM with medical
students with similar backgrounds and experiences. We also run online information events designed to
open the door to medicine and remove the barrier for people interested in a career in medicine.
This year, alongside our mentoring scheme we are running events around graduate entry medicine, medical
entrance exams, financing medicine, life as a WP student.
We are also piloting a new scheme opening the door into foundation applications and pathways beyond
medical school.
