Offers for non A-level Applicants

International Baccalaureate

Typical offer: For F300, F303, F3F5 and F3FA the requirement is at least a grade 6 in both Mathematics ('Analysis and Approaches' only) and Physics at Higher Level plus 38 points overall from the appropriate number of subjects. For FG31 and GF13 the requirement is grade 7 at Higher Level Mathematics ('Analysis and Approaches' only) and 6 in Physics plus 38 points overall from the appropriate number of subjects.

Scottish Qualifications

Typical offer: For F300, F303, F3F5 and F3FA the requirement is at least AA at Advanced Higher in Maths and Physics, together with at least AAB grades at Higher level. For FG31 and GF13 the requirement is at least AA at Advanced Higher in Maths and Physics, together with at least AAA grades at Higher level.

Welsh Baccalaureate

Typical offer: A*A at A level including Maths and Physics, plus grade B in one further A level subject and grade C in the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate.

BTEC

We welcome applications from students taking a BTEC qualification alongside A level Maths and Physics.

We may consider a BTEC qualification in a relevant Science or Engineering subject alongside A level Maths only on an individual basis.

Access Courses

The Department considers applications from mature students but A levels or equivalent in Mathematics and Physics are required.
