Not only was Warwick’s Physics department an ideal place for a budding researcher to work, the flexibility afforded to me during my PhD allowed me to take on additional projects that broadened my horizons and kept my options open. When I realised that science communication, rather than research, was to be my future career, my work in Warwick’s excellent outreach programme was an ideal springboard into the sector.
