Annual Careers Fair questions
We asked Dr Jon Duffy (Departmental Careers Contact) 3 quick questions about our annual careers fair.
Who is the event for and when does it usually take place?
This event is aimed at all students, not just those currently thinking about job applications. Some students may already be thinking seriously about some of the employers or roles the representatives have at the fair, but for most it's more about getting inspiration. We always have a great turn out from our 1st year students. We normally hold the event in late October.
What happens at the fair?
We have up to around 15 employers represented, across a wide range of sectors. It's designed to be an informal event, where students can talk to the individuals. We aim to invite as many Warwick Physics graduates as possible, and they are normally working in a specific role for their employer, rather than being part of a recruitment team.
What do students like the most / find helpful?
Students really like to talk to someone who was once a Warwick student, who can describe how their career has developed since graduating. I think it also highlights the variety of opportunities available to our students.
