Coursework and Late Penalties
Assessed coursework makes up a significant proportion of the total credit for your course. Examples include the final year project, programming assignments and laboratory reports. Details of how the coursework is assessed and the credit allocated are given by those running the modules.
Where assessed coursework is submitted late, University rules stipulate that credit is reduced by 5% of the total available credit for each day or part of a day by which it exceeds the deadline. Exceptions to this rule can apply for work worth less than 2 CATS credits.
For weekly problems (year 1), worksheets (years 1 and 2) and online tests, if you are late submitting your answers, your work will be marked but you will receive zero. There are no exceptions to this rule. If there are legitimate reasons for you being late, you should explain these to the module organiser and the work may be waived.
