Ionising Radiation Safety Awareness

You must complete the ionising radiation safety awareness course if you are working with ionising radiation in the Department. The course can be found on the Health and Safety Services Training page - course title Ionising Radiation Safety Awareness.

This training consists of three sections:

1.Ionising Radiation Safety Awareness (Core of Knowledge)

2. Ionising Radiation Safety Awareness (Unsealed Sources)

3. Ionising Radiation Safety Awareness (X-rays)

The contents of each section include; a training video and a quiz

In addition to this you must undertake local competency training on the equipment with the personal responsible for it.

Working with sources of ionising radiation must be discussed and agreed with the Departments Radiation Protection Supervisors (RPS's):
