Physics to host Sutton Trust Summer School

We are pleased to share that the Department of Physics will be hosting a 2026 Sutton Trust Physics and Astronomy Summer School, led by Dr Lauren Doyle.

The programme will welcome 20 students to campus for a week-long residential programme in late July. Students will be introduced to studying Physics at Warwick through academic sessions, hands-on laboratory work, and visits to our on-campus observatory facilities, and will have lots of opportunities to engage with staff and current students from the department.

This achievement follows a successful Sutton Trust webinar held in October 2025, hosted by Dr David Brown, for which over 200 students registered, highlighting strong interest in studying Physics and Astronomy at Warwick.

The Sutton Trust supports young people from less advantaged backgrounds to access universities and careers. The Summer School is open to year 12 students who are studying Physics and Mathematics at Higher, A-Level or equivalent.
