Aerospace Technology Institute programme – R&D funding for smaller business
The Aerospace Technology Institute and Innovate UK invite expressions of interest for their R&D funding for smaller business. This supports and encourages industrial investment into the aerospace sector and its supply chain, through the funding of innovative and high impact projects. Projects should demonstrate forward-looking and disruptive solutions to UK civil aerospace challenges. This is phase 1 of a two-phase competition. Projects must align with the following areas from the latest UK aerospace technology strategy: •vehicles; •propulsion and power; •advanced systems; •aerostructures; •cross-cutting enablers. Project leads must be UK registered companies of any size and must collaborate with other organisations. The lead and at least one other organisation must claim funding, but projects can include partners that do not receive funding. Projects must include a UK registered SME, have a credible route to market and identify end-users. Proposals should carry out and intend to exploit the results from or in the UK. Grants are worth between £210,000 and £1,050,000 at up to 70 per cent full economic costs for between one and three years. The proportion of funding provided for total eligible costs depends on organisation type.
