Full text: The Royal Academy of Engineering, with support from the Worshipful Company of Engineers, invites nominations for its young engineer of the year awards. These recognise UK engineers who have demonstrated excellence in the early stage of their career. Nominees must be either UK citizens or working in the UK for at least three years immediately before the year of the awarding prize. They must be in full-time education, research or industrial employment and must be less than 10 years from graduation from their first degree in engineering or equivalent qualification. Self-nominations are not accepted. Five awards worth £3,000 each are available. The overall winner also receives the Sir George Macfarlane medal.
