Grants for studies in astronomy and geophysics - RAS deadline

Export as iCalendar

The Royal Astronomical Society invites applications for its grants for studies. These support research or study in any area of astronomy or geophysics. Eligible activities include the following: •those related to the history of astronomy and geophysics; •conference or meeting travel subsistence; •funding for meeting organising; •instrumentation; •observing and field trips; •study or research projects; •undergraduate summer bursaries. Fellows of the society may apply. Applications are particularly encouraged from applicants ineligible for grants from the research councils or equivalent overseas bodies and for work, or sums, not normally supported by the councils. Applications should normally be for sums between £250 and £5,000. Applicants are expected to request matching funding from other sources, and the majority of grants are awarded on the basis of such funding being available.
